We believe that looking after our neighbourhoods can have a real impact on the quality of life of the people who live there. Our Environmental Grant fund is therefore dedicated to improving the local environment - whether that means turning a piece of wasteland into a garden or organising litter picking days on the beach.

The Trust has a number of grant programmes, however only two of these are open for unsolicited applications, these being the Small Grants UK and Small Grants Africa programmes. Across all of their programmes the Trust provides grants of around £2 million each year.

The Newby Trust was formed with aim of achieving improvements in the areas of education and social and medical welfare. The Pilgrim Trust was founded in 1930 by Edward Stephen Harkness of New York, with an endowment of just over £2 million, in order to promote the future well being of the United Kingdom. For nearly eight decades The Pilgrim Trust have been giving grants to charitable organisations operating in the heritage and social welfare arenas in Britain. Their aim is to preserve and promote Britain's historical and intellectual assets and to provide assistance to vulnerable members of society.
The Thompson Family Charitable Trust provides grants to registered charities for general charitable purposes.
