Free Emergency Planning with CVS Cheshire East

Working with Cheshire Resilience Forum, Cheshire West Voluntary Action and Warrington Voluntary Action, we're pleased to offer free training to local groups. This training guides you on how to prepare a household plan, how to stay updated with local information, and how to prepare a "grab bag" for your home or organisation.

To find out more or book a training session please contact helen.roger@cvsce.org.uk. Training can be delivered at a time and venue of your choice. This free training is available up to October 2026, depending on availability.

Training with Cheshire Police - Violent Incidents and Evacuation/Lockdown Procedures

  • ACT (Action Counters Terrorism)  E-learning or ACT for Education- 1 hour online package looking at suspicious activity/items, MTA and bomb threats. These packages are incredibly useful to gain a basic understanding of the subject. E-Learning | ProtectUK. This should be completed before enrolling onto any of the other packages, especially the SCaN packages.

  • ACT in a Box- interactive tabletop on MTA (currently being updated) and IED. Staff can work through the scenarios in relation to their own place of work. ACT in a BOX Exercises | ProtectUK

  • SCaN (See, Check and Notify) videos: SCaN for All Staff (hostile reconnaissance) and SCaN for Line Managers (insider risk). These can also be delivered as a tabletop exercise alongside the Facilitator’s guide so staff can discuss. The link to the videos can be found here: scan.highfieldelearning.com.

  • Once staff have done the ACT e-learning and SCaN videos, and they still require more information, there are also virtual ACT and SCaN training sessions that our CTAA delivers - contact Beth Eaton to learn more - Beth.Eaton@cheshire.police.uk.
