Introduction
The Adult Mental Health & Wellbeing Alliance is an emerging cross‑sector partnership, currently in its soft‑launch stage. Our aim is to improve outcomes for adults living with — or at risk of — Serious Mental Illness (SMI) across Cheshire East.
We bring together professionals from Health, Social Care, Community, Voluntary, Faith and Social Enterprise sectors to strengthen prevention, early help, and access to meaningful support.
Our ambition is simple:
Every adult should be able to thrive — accessing the right advice and support, in the right place, at the right time, close to home. We champion:
- the unique strengths of all sectors
- the voice and visibility of voluntary and community organisations
- a more integrated, inclusive and responsive system of support
- collaboration and shared learning that improves the wider ecosystem

Head of Sector Development, CVSCE
Lead for the Adult Mental Health & Wellbeing Alliance
CWP have commissioned CVSCE to develop local voluntary sector alliances at place with the aim to bridge gaps between statutory services (like the NHS) and local communities. This will help to improve access to support services, reduce health inequalities, and build capacity and skills within the VCFSE sector.
Alongside the development of the alliance is investment into local VCFSE organisations to better meet the needs of our local population living with an SMI (Serious Mental Illness). This pathway brings together clinical, emotional, wellbeing and practical support to aid recovery.
Delivery Partners
CVSCE – Alliance Infrastructure Lead
CVSCE provides the core infrastructure support for the Adult Mental Health & Wellbeing Alliance — coordinating partners, facilitating governance, enabling collaboration, and strengthening the VCFSE sector’s role in improving mental health outcomes.
MIND – Care Navigation Provider
MIND delivers the Care Navigation Service for adults living with SMI in Cheshire East, offering personalised advice, practical support, and help navigating statutory and community services. This includes connecting individuals to local wellbeing activities, peer support and wider pathways of help.
Microgrant Providers
CWP’s investment into local VCFSE organisations enables grassroots programmes that strengthen connection, resilience and emotional wellbeing across Cheshire East. Through the microgrant programme, the following organisations are delivering prevention activities and/or accessing training to build their workforce’s skills in mental‑ill health prevention:
- Stable Minds
- Youth Fed
- CLASP
- Refugees Welcome
- SMILE
- St Paul’s
- Arts Space
- Crewe & Nantwich RUFC
Together, these organisations contribute to a stronger support ecosystem — offering community‑based spaces, meaningful activities and skilled, confident staff who help adults stay connected, confident and well.
