Free Practical Support for Community Projects
The Skill Mill, a social enterprise, has expanded into Cheshire and is looking to work with local community and voluntary organisations. The programme provides structured six-month placements for 16–18-year-olds with previous offending histories, helping them develop skills, confidence and positive futures. With an average reoffending rate of just 7%, compared with the national average of 63%, the project is delivering social impact.
Local organisations can benefit from free, quality practical support from supervised teams, with projects including painting and decorating, garden maintenance, landscaping, site and vegetation clearance, tree planting, bench installation, flood recovery work, dry stone walling, school improvements and more. If your organisation has a project that could benefit from extra hands, get in touch with Cheshire Supervisor Mark Blinkhorn at: mark.blinkhorn@theskillmill.org or Tel: 07983 825677 to find out how The Skill Mill could help.
