The Happiness Fund
Background
The Happiness Fund is provided by Laughology.
The Fund will support grassroots, not-for-profit projects across the UK with projects that aim to improve mental health, wellbeing, inclusion, and and skills development in local communities.
Objectives of Fund
Funding is intended to build happy, strong, resilient communities by supporting grassroots, not-for-profit projects that enable sustainable outcomes in:
Mental health
Wellbeing
Inclusion
Skills development
Value Notes
This year, there is a total of £20,000 available across two application cycles.
Each cycle will award two grants of £5,000 each.
Who Can Apply
Grassroots, community-based organisations can apply.
To be eligible, applicants must be:
Not-for-profit.
Non-political.
Focused on longevity and sustainability.

UK
Restrictions
The following are not eligible for funding:
Big, national charities looking for another round of funding.
One-off events (unless there is a lasting benefit for the community).
Salaries, accommodation or rent (renovations will be considered).
Medical treatments or research.
Schools and universities (unless it is an independent project, not reliant on school funding).
Personal development courses.
Retroactive funding for expenses.
Projects outside the UK.
Eligible Expenditure
Grants can be used to support grassroots, neighbourhood-based community projects that improve mental health, wellbeing, inclusion, and skills development, with a focus on activities that have sustainable impact and the potential to continue beyond the initial funding.
How To Apply
There are usually two application rounds per year.
Applications for Cycle One open on 2 March 2026 and close on 27 March 2026.
