Cheshire East Council hosts the area’s Welfare to Work Partnership. This is a partnership of all services that have some input to supporting disadvantaged people into employment.
The remit of the group is to:
- help eliminate service/geographical gaps and overlaps
- create and exploit a joined up approach to employer engagement
- create a directory of all supported employment services
- create a joined up approach to transition support and external funding
Examples of people that partnership organisations support include:
- people with learning disabilities, physical/sensory disabilities, mental ill health, autism and aspergers
- carers
- care leavers
- people affected by domestic violence
- ex military personnel
- people in recovery from alcohol/substance misuse
- homeless people and people who are at risk of homelessness
- people are affected by domestic abuse
- long-term unemployed
- ex offenders
- ethnic minorities
- refugees granted asylum
- people aged 50+
