We are seeking enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to join our team on Saturday 11th July 2020 for the 12th year of our outdoor tribute concert –Live in the Park at Arley Hall!
The concert is in aid of a Cheshire-based charity called Neuromuscular Centre (NMC), the Centre of Excellence for People and Families affected by a Neuromuscular condition. We provide a range of unique services for young people and adults with muscular dystrophy and allied neuromuscular conditions, which are characterised by progressive muscle wasting. We provide physiotherapy and hydrotherapy as core services, but also support and advice, training in graphic design, IT and life skills, activities for young people including Bushcraft and employment opportunities. We exist as the only Centre of our kind in the UK and Europe, and our purpose is to enhance the quality of life for adults and young people living with these conditions. The cost of running this unique and inspirational charity is £1.2 million per year.
Our headline fundraising event is Live in the Park, an outdoor tribute concert attracting over 2000 people to watch some of the best tribute acts of all time. This event raises over £50,000 per year and steadily growing. We would love to raise even more this year, in celebration of NMC’s 30th birthday!
This year we have tributes to Queen, David Bowie and Madonna.
We are looking for a team of enthusiastic volunteers to join our team on Saturday 11th July between 4pm and 11pm in a number of roles. Our volunteers are provided with all the information and support needed to fulfill their role prior to the event, plus an NMC t-shirt and refreshments on the day and the opportunity to be part of a successful and friendly fundraising team.
We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
Helping out on an NMC stall, selling merchandise and providing customer service.
Stewarding and crowd control
Ticket checking/selling at the Event Entrance gates
Car parking attendant
Selling raffle tickets
Serving artists’ refreshments backstage
Although you will be assigned a specific role, we require you to be flexible and willing to be assigned a different task at short notice.

Experience of working on large-scale outdoor fundraising events in all aspects of Events Management.

Experience, skills or attributes needed:
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
Able to work independently or as part of a team
Some previous events or customer service experience is desirable, but not essential
Full briefing will be given prior to the event, and the opportunity to meet if desired. Support on the day, within the team.
