We provide a variety of free and low cost training courses on a wide range of subjects to support both staff and volunteers in the Voluntary, Community & Faith sector in Cheshire East. To learn more about each course or to book a place on line, please click on the relevant session link below.

Each of our CVS training sessions will be marked with one of the below badges as a reference for members working towards GRIPP Assurance or working to a bespoke GRIPP support plan, created following completion of the GRIPP Checklist.
 


Income Spotlight - Regular Donors - Thursday 3rd February, 11am-12pm - Thu, 03/02/2022 - 11:00

This one-hour spotlight session will look into regular donors to diversify your charity's income. This course is free of charge for VCFS organisations, funded by Cheshire East Lifelong Learning.

Emergency First Aid at Work - Saturday 5th February, 9am-4pm - Congleton - Sat, 05/02/2022 - 09:00

This full day course is ideal for anyone who requires an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate. The course meets HSE requirements and is fully certified. Certification is valid for 3 years.

Introduction to Safeguarding - Monday 7th February, 10am-12pm - Zoom - Mon, 07/02/2022 - 10:00

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. Do your staff, trustees and volunteers understand the basics of safeguarding? This session will ensure that you understand what your organisation needs to do to keep everyone involved safe. This course is free of charge for VCFS organisations, funded by Cheshire East Lifelong Learning.

Boundaries Training - Tuesday 1st March, 3pm-4:30pm - Zoom - Tue, 01/03/2022 - 15:00

It is difficult for staff, and especially for volunteers to know what boundaries should exist between them and service users, and what to do if these are being broken. This training will look at how staff and volunteer maintain professional boundaries with service users. This course is free of charge for VCFS organisations, funded by Cheshire East Lifelong Learning.

Equality and Diversity Training - Thursday 17th March, 10am-1pm - Crewe - Thu, 17/03/2022 - 10:00

This course is essential for community and voluntary groups to understand the requirements of the 2010 Equality Act and the accompanying ‘Public Sector Equality Duty’ (2011). This course is free of charge for VCFS organisations, funded by Cheshire East Lifelong Learning.

Cyber Security Training - Tuesday 22nd March, 1pm-3pm - Crewe - Tue, 22/03/2022 - 13:00

Cyber security is the means by which individuals and organisations reduce the risk of becoming victims of cyber attack. This training session teaches participants about the importance of cyber security and how to implement it for charities. This course is free of charge for VCFS organisations, funded by Cheshire East Lifelong Learning.

Lead Safeguarding Training - Thursday 24th March, 9am-4pm - Virtual Training - Thu, 24/03/2022 - 09:00

This 1-day training session is an advanced safeguarding course for those who are the safeguarding leads of their organisation or need a more in-depth understanding of safeguarding processes. This is a Level 3 Award in Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People and Adults at Risk.

Advanced Bid Writing Cohort (3 Session Course) – First Session: Wednesday 30th March, 1pm-3pm - Wed, 30/03/2022 - 13:00

This course is spread over 3 sessions (one every 3 weeks), each covering a different aspect of advanced bid writing. These 2-hour sessions, along with take-home tasks, will lead you to target and develop your bids to maximise chances of funding success. This course is free of charge for VCFS organisations, funded by Cheshire East Lifelong Learning.

Introduction to Volunteer Management - Thursday 31st March, 1pm-4pm - Macclesfield - Thu, 31/03/2022 - 13:00

This 3 hour session is aimed at people who are new to managing volunteers or involving volunteers in their organisation. Is your organisation volunteer ready? Come along and find out more about how you can prepare your organisation to effectively involve volunteers.
