Boundaries - Tuesday 19th March, 10am-12pm on Zoom
It is difficult for staff, and especially for volunteers to know what boundaries should exist between them and service users, and what to do if these are being broken. This training will look at how staff and volunteer maintain professional boundaries with service users and with each other.

Volunteers & the Law (2-part course) - Thursday 18th and 25th April, 10am-12pm on Zoom
Do you know your legal responsibilities to your volunteers? This 2-part course will help you understand legislation, volunteer agreements, how to avoid risk, and gain awareness of the common pitfalls facing volunteering for organisations.

Introduction to Grant Applications - Wednesday 24th April, 7pm-9pm on Zoom
Ideal for community and voluntary organisations who are new to applying for grant funding. This session will take you through the crucial steps you need to take to help you ensure your organisation has the best chance of success with your grant bids.

Introduction to Volunteer Management - Wednesday 15th May, 1pm-3pm on Zoom
This short session is aimed at people who are new to managing volunteers or involving volunteers in their organisation. Is your organisation volunteer ready? Come along and find out more about how you can prepare your organisation to effectively involve volunteers.

 

Free and low-cost training for the Cheshire East voluntary community faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector

An Introduction to Supporting Loss, Grief and Bereavement (EOLP) - Thursday 7th March, 10am-12pm, CVS Office Crewe
Delivered by The End of Life Partnership, this free short information session aims to give professionals, volunteers and staff within support organisations a better understanding of grief and the bereavement process and to offer advice and tips on how to support someone through their grief. 

 

CVS Additional training

If you would like to expand the skills, knowledge, abilities and agility of your team we've got you covered. We at CVS provide a variety of expert-led training opportunities, from requisite or essential training for people working or volunteering in the sector to specialist training in fields like grant writing and trusteeship. We hold both in-person and virtual training sessions (details found in each training description). All our currently available training dates are listed below.

Foundation for Funding Support

Bespoke Training Sessions

Does your team need training as a group?

We can provide bespoke training sessions for your organisation. Bespoke sessions can be virtual or in-person or at a venue and times that are suitable for you.

The cost of private sessions is £150 for an introductory session (2 hours) or £250 for an advanced course (4-5 hours). Please contact enquiries@cvsce.org.uk to arrange a session.

 VCFSE Essentials Course

£150 for half day session (for CVS members, £250 for non-members)

Do your volunteers and staff have the essential training to work in the VCFSE sector? This private half day course will guide you through the basic training for working or volunteering in the sector and will enable your team to work compliantly. It is also useful refresher training. Please contact enquiries@cvsce.org.uk to book a session at a day and time suitable for you.

Modules include the 5 topics below, but we can also cover other topics (e.g., GDPR) and adjust the content to match your team’s needs.
