We provide a variety of free and low cost training courses on a wide range of subjects to support both staff and volunteers in the Voluntary, Community & Faith sector in Cheshire East. To learn more about each course or to book a place on line, please click on the relevant session link below.

We can also provide high quality, tailored courses to support your organisation at a competitive cost. Please contact our Learning & Development Officer to discuss your requirements.


Each of our CVS training sessions will be marked with one of the below badges as a reference for members working towards GRIPP Assurance or working to a bespoke GRIPP support plan, created following completion of the GRIPP Checklist.
 


Business planning cohort (six sessions) - Tuesday 27th April - Tuesday 6th July, 1pm-3pm - Tue, 27/04/2021 - 13:00

This course is spread over 6 sessions (every 2 weeks), each covering a different aspect of business planning. The sessions, along with the take home tasks will lead you to create your very own bespoke business plan by the end of the course.

Kickstart Seminar - Thursday 29th April, 10am-12pm - Thu, 29/04/2021 - 10:00

Are you thinking of employing a young person through the Kickstart scheme? This Government scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16-24 year olds on universal credit.

Introduction to Trustee Roles and Responsibilities - Monday 17th May, 1pm-3pm - Mon, 17/05/2021 - 13:00

This session is aimed at anyone who is considering becoming a Trustee for a charity or community group or new Trustees who would like to learn more. This session will provide an overview of the roles and responsibilities of a trustee of a small group or charity.

Emergency First Aid at Work - Monday 7th June, 9:00am-3:30pm - Congleton - Mon, 07/06/2021 - 09:00

This full day course is ideal for anyone who requires an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate. The course meets HSE requirements and is fully certified. Certification is valid for 3 years.

Introduction to Project Management - Wednesday 9th June, 9am-1pm - Online Training - Wed, 09/06/2021 - 09:00

This informative and practical half day session is designed for anyone wishing to gain an understanding of the foundations of project management.

Introduction to Safeguarding - Thursday 24th June, 10am-12pm - Thu, 24/06/2021 - 10:00

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. Do your staff, trustees and volunteers understand the basics of safeguarding? This session will ensure that you understand what your organisation needs to do to keep everyone involved safe.

First Aid for Mental Health - Online Training - Thursday 8th July, 9am-3:30pm - Thu, 08/07/2021 - 09:00

This Ofqual regulated (level 2), one day course covers all of the subjects from the awareness qualification, along with giving learners the knowledge and confidence to assess for warning signs of suicide and self-harm, and have a greater understanding of the support available. Qualifications are valid for 3 years.
