VCFSE Devolution Q&A CE Leader and Deputy 27th May
Cheshire and Warrington has been confirmed as an area selected to be part of the government’s devolution priority programme (DPP).
Devolution is broadly about getting more powers and funding from central government, to enable us to be in control of more decision making locally and regionally. It means local leaders will make key decisions about our area that matter most to our residents, communities and businesses.
Cheshire East Council, with Cheshire West and Chester and Warrington borough Councils is working with Government to develop a devolution proposal for Cheshire & Warrington, with a view to establishing a new combined authority and electing a Mayor in May 2026.
Join Cllr Nick Mannion, leader of Cheshire East Council and Cllr Michael Gorman, deputy leader, to learn about the potential benefits to our communities, understand the process and ask questions about what this all means. The session will take place on Tuesday 27th May at 3pm, on MS Teams.
Session agenda:
- Welcome and Introduction
- Devolution update
- What this could mean for the VCFSE sector
- Questions and Answers
