East Cheshire Eye Society has been supporting visually impaired local people and their families since 1875. Over 145 years the needs of local people have changed beyond recognition and our services have changed with them.  We are constantly reviewing how we work with and what we offer our service users.  The current Covid crisis is giving us additional challenges as we continue to offer advice, support, information and technology training to people affected by sight loss.

As face to face services are restricted, we are offering group phone calls and regular one to one Keeping In Touch calls.  As well as telephone and online services, in certain circumstances, we can make individual face to face appointments if the service user cannot access our remote services and cannot wait until the current restrictions are eased.  Each appointment is individually risk assessed and socially distanced.  For example, we can offer help and guidance on choosing a magnifier, using lighting more effectively, plus lots of ideas and tips for managing around the home and when out and about.

If your organisation would like to know more about East Cheshire Eye Society and our services, we have a team of volunteers who would be delighted to talk to your group online or over the phone.  If you would like to arrange a talk, please contact us via info@eastcheshireeyesociety.org.uk or call 01625 422602.
