Can you help a Cheshire East Child in Crisis this Christmas?

Over the last 4 years, CVS Cheshire East has been working with Storage Boost in Crewe and staff from AstraZeneca’s Alderley Park site to provide Christmas presents for families in real need across Cheshire East.

The toys and gifts that are donated are given to local charities and organisations who work with families and children and who may be facing an extra hard time at Christmas.  Without these donations, some of the children involved wouldn’t receive any other gifts at Christmas, something that we wouldn’t want any family to have to go through.

Last year, we helped 60 Cheshire East organisations provide toys to the families they were working with and it was fantastic to see some of the thank you messages and photos from the children who received the gifts. We couldn’t help every organisation that asked for toys though and this year we would really like to reach this goal and be able to donate 3000 toys and gifts to local children.

A number of the children we are working with have chaotic home lives with domestic violence and substance misuse a regular occurrence.’

‘We help families whose loved ones are here at the Hospice for end of life care’.

‘We distribute to children and young people who care for a member of their family at home – many come from families who are financially disadvantaged.’

So, how can you help?

  • Simply donate a toy or two to one of the collection points (see below for details).
  • Your staff could bring a toy to work.
  • You could share the appeal information with your friends and family.
  • You could make a cash donation to enable us to purchase toys on your behalf
  • You could take part in a fund raising event for the Appeal
  • You could pledge to Give5 and donate 5 toys to the appeal

All toys donated must be in excellent condition, suitable for any age; from baby to 18 years and not violent types of toys i.e swords, guns or toy soldiers.

Our main sort and distribution will take place at Storage Boost in Crewe on Thursday, 17th December so we need all donations to be made by Monday 14th December (or Wednesday, 16th if they are made to our offices in Sandbach or Crewe).
