Great opportunity to become a Trustee and Secretary at Bollington Initiative Trust, a well established charity. BIT is a small development trust owning and managing three properties in Bollington, Cheshire. Estimated time 1/2 day per month.

Opportunity Interests: Children and Young People, Community Halls/Buildings, Families
Type of Activity: Administration, Legal Work, Trusteeship
Location: From Home - Remote Volunteering, Bollington

1. Act as a Trustee contributing to the Trustee Board.

BIT has three properties that it manages in Bollington - a Victorian former toilet block updated and turned into space leased for business purposes; an important area of natural habitat encompassing woodland and a watercourse called Tinkers Clough and a Victorian former school, The Water Street Centre, used as an important community space currently occupied by a charitable pre-school.

The Water Street Centre is the current focus of most Trustee involvement as we try to establish a "family hub" supporting the Bollington community.

As a Trustee you would be contributing to the maintenance and development of these important community assets.

2. Undertake the Company Secretary role.

The existing Secretary is still with us and would provide a handover to you. You with be the charity's prime contact with Companies House and the Charity Commission and would provide support to the Trustee Board. This is a terrific opportunity seeking Board / Secretary experience.
