We are looking for reliable and friendly volunteers to support the delivery of Ruby’s Fund family services remotely by driving the big pink sensory bus to where it is needed.

Role description:
Safely and responsibly drive the bus to a pre-arranged location e.g. school, family home. 
Perform a basic assessment of the bus’ roadworthiness prior to and following each outing e.g. visual inspection of tyres, (using a pre-defined checklist).
Ensure that the bus is journey-ready (e.g. fuel, equipment, etc).
Work alongside the Outreach Session Support Volunteer (who will supervise the delivery of the session at the venue and ensure that the bus is set up/cleaned and tidied down properly). 
Undergo all training and supervision as required by Ruby’s Fund.
Comply with Ruby’s Fund policies and procedures and promote the principles of these policies amongst colleagues, service users, volunteers and other members of the community. 

Time commitment:
Could be an ad-hoc or regular commitment. Each session will be around three hours (depending on travel time and venue).  
Minimum commitment of 6 months.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

Clean UK driving licence & confident driver. 
Age 30yrs and upwards (with at least 10yrs of regular driving experience). 
Large vehicle driving experience preferred but not essential. 
Friendly, welcoming and non-judgemental attitude.

Travel expenses. Mileage paid at 45p per mile.

What support is available for the volunteer?:

Initial and ongoing training as necessary. Regular 1-1 support and supervision sessions with the Volunteer Recruitment Co-ordinator and/or Centre Manager.
