We would welcome volunteers to support the day-to-day operations of the reception, office and Ruby's Fund centre as a whole.

Role description:
Provide general support e.g answer the phone, take messages and direct accordingly; ensure signage, display boards and information points are up-to-date and clearly visible.
Welcome and sign visitors in/out and ensure they comply with Covid guidelines (face masks, hand sanitizing, etc).
Direct visitors to the appropriate activity room within the centre.
Ensure the reception area and shop is kept clean and tidy and free of obstacles.
Undergo all training and supervision as required by Ruby’s Fund. 
Comply with Ruby’s Fund policies and procedures and promote the principles of these policies amongst colleagues, service users, volunteers and other members of the community. 

Time commitment:
Around 3 hours per shift.
Minimum commitment of 6 months.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

Warm, friendly and approachable with a non-judgmental attitude. 
Effective communication skills, confident speaking to a diverse range of people. 
A good team worker. 
Able to work in a confidential environment. 
Some experience in office practices useful but not essential.
Confident using some technology e.g. an ipad.

Reasonable travel expenses. Mileage rate is 45p per mile.

What support is available for the volunteer?:

Initial and ongoing training as necessary. Regular 1-1 support and supervision sessions with the Volunteer Recruitment Co-ordinator and/or Office Manager.
