If you are sociable, confidential, non-judgmental, enjoy meeting people and have a passion for sharing good food, you could just be the person we are looking for. We run a popular Saturday Kitchen for adults who are homeless and/or vulnerable at Jubilee House in Crewe.

We are looking for volunteers who don’t mind mucking in with a friendly team. Following training, you could be in charge of preparing our two-course menu, food preparation, washing up or cleaning down on a rota basis. We’d like to think you could also move to front of house roles as needed but we acknowledge that’s not for everyone.

All our kitchen roles involve some element of meeting people who need our services, so you
must be friendly and welcoming at all times. Experience working in a busy kitchen is useful but not essential.

For those who live locally, we reimburse public transport fares and travel expenses for travel above home to volunteering base, at the following rates per mile: car users, 45p.

What support is available for the volunteer?:

You would be joining a small, friendly team with Trustees & General Manager to support you

What training is available for the volunteer?:

Safeguarding training is provided for all staff and volunteers. Additional training as the role demands will be offered.
