Host Organisation: Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme

Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme support disabled children. We are currently looking to recruit volunteers to help with Saturday Club run once a week in Sandbach park, clubs in the week and summer holiday clubs

Days and Times for the Opportunity: Tuesday AM, Wednesday AM, Wednesday PM, Friday AM, Friday PM, Saturday AM, Anytime

Roles and Duties:
To be able to support children and young people and encourage them to participate in activities.
To have fun during the activities and encourage the children and young people to have fun too
To gain knowledge and understanding of the children/young people they are supporting and how the disability influences their behaviour.
To gain a greater understanding of the individual needs of children and young people with disabilities
To work as part of a team
Ensure the general wellbeing and welfare of the children and report any concerns to designated staff member
To be actively involved in sports, games, arts and craft activities
Opportunity to lead an activity (drama, dance, games etc)
To help set up areas for different activities and tidy away at the end of the session
To help with snacks /drinks

Skills and Qualifications Required:

We need people who are calm, patient and enthusiastic. You will be required to support our children and young people in art, craft, sport, games and play activities. It’s not only very rewarding, but great fun too!

Expenses - Cheshire Buddies believes that no one should be at a financial disadvantage through volunteering and is committed to meet, reasonable out-of-pocket expenses:
Travel between home and place of volunteering activity and car parking charges. Car park tickets must be retained, by way of receipt.
Claims for expenses should be made on a Cheshire Buddies Volunteer Expenses Claim form and are paid retrospectively

Your role description and induction will ensure you are clear as to what is required and expected of you. When you start volunteering with Cheshire Buddies you will know:
• Your volunteer role title
• Your tasks and responsibilities
• Times/days and location of volunteering activity
• Whether your role is anticipated to be short term or ongoing
• The person who will be your main contact with Cheshire Buddies
