Chair of the Trustees is a vital role in running and taking Morton Hall Community Centre forward. It requires a very special person who has the knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to do this along with the Trustee team.

We are looking for a well organised person who can be the "voice" of Morton Hall Community Centre, and represent us on a number of platforms. Preferably with Management experience, but this can be gained by working alongside the outgoing Chair, and with additional training if required. Enthusiasm and for this registered charity Community Project, and its potential, and to have the opportunity "to give something back" expanding its community use for the health and wellbeing of the local residents is paramount.

The role involves also becoming a Trustee which gives shared responsibility for :-
* ensuring that Morton Hall complies with its governing document, legal requirements and Charity Commission regulations.
* working effectively with other committee members to run the organisation efficiently
* strategic development
* setting and maintaining the organisation's ethos and values
* flexible home working planning and making decisions.

Specifically to the role of Chair:-
Drawing up the Management Agendas and chairing bi-monthly meetings
Recruiting and inducting other Volunteers and Trustees
Encouraging positive change and forward planning
Knowledge and understanding of financial reports
Making essential/emergency decisions between committee meetings

Skills and Qualifications Required:

Can demonstrate a strong passion for the charity and its objectives
Good leadership skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills including computer literacy
Impartiality to ensure decisions are taken and followed up
Good time management
Tact and Diplomacy
Understanding of the roles/responsibilities of the management committee and identifying any skill shortages

To attend meeting and training outside Macclesfield. 45p a mile. Also re-inbursement of approved purchases
