Successful charity in rural south Cheshire is looking to recruit a Trustee and Treasurer, to work with its existing strong team of Trustees, including an Assistant Treasurer
The ADCA Treasurer maintains records for the charity’s finances, which are audited each year for submission to the Charity Commission. The Treasurer monitors the charity’s income to see that it will meet the anticipated and forecast needs of the charity and is part of a team of Trustees ensuring that the local community benefits from a reliable and well-run organisation serving Audlem and district.
• keep and, in conjunction with the Assistant Treasurer, update details of income and expenditure on the charity’s Excel spreadsheets and also reconcile bank statements
• prepare summary financial reports to the quarterly meetings of ADCA Trustees, also ad hoc reports as required by the Chair.
• prepare financial reports/projections to the Chair to support new funding applications
• prior to the AGM, prepare the charity’s records to be inspected by an independent auditor
Must be numerate and financially literate, with good IT skills (spreadsheets, e-mails).
Must have good access to the internet. A printer would be very useful.
Must have good written and verbal skills.
Must have experience of bookkeeping and financial management.
Must understand/be willing to learn about charity accounting and reporting.
Must act within general Charity Commission guidance for trustees
Business travel - 45p per mile
The Treasurer is part of a larger committee of Trustees, including an Assistant Treasurer and will act in cooperation with them. CVSCE supports ADCA with advice and guidance.
Handover from current Treasurer who will be available for help and advice for some time. Other training needs will be discussed as appropriate.
