TRUSTEE OF BOLLINGTON INITIATIVE TRUST - DEVELOPMENT TRUST BASED IN BOLLINGTON. VOLUNTARY. HALF DAY PER MONTH. PLENTY OF SUPPORT.
1. Act as a Trustee contributing to the Trustee Board.
BIT has three properties that it manages in Bollington. A Victorian former toilet block updated and turned into space leased for business purposes; an important area of natural habitat encompassing woodland and a watercourse called Tinkers Clough and a Victorian former school, the Water Street Centre, used as an important community space currently occupied by a charitable pre-school. As a Trustee you would be contributing to the maintenance and development of these important community assets.
2. Oversee the financial affairs of the charity.
You would be supported by the existing paid bookkeeping service. We also have an external examiner who signs off the accounts. .
3. Monitor and report on finances.
Trustee Board meets ca. every two months. A one page report is required for each Board meeting.
BIT's accounts are relatively straightforward with regular income flows and expenditure. The existing Treasurer who is moving out of the area for work treasons is available to assist in any handover.
Someone who is committed to Bollington and the area and has a passion for community service.
Someone who has the ability to act as a Trustee.
Someone who is financially literate and has some financial management skills.
Someone who can communicate clearly.
You would be supported by the existing paid bookkeeping service.
We also have an external examiner who signs off the accounts.
The existing Treasurer who is moving out of the area for work treasons is available to assist in any handover.
You would have the support of the existing, experienced, Trustees.
