Volunteer Mentors required to help suppoort families affected by Domestic Abuse

We are looking for Volunteer Mentors to help support the young people who attend our Even Better Workshops and our Even Better Peer support groups.

Typical tasks could include:

1. Our Even Better Workshops are designed to give parents and young people the opportunity to talk to us about any support they might need and to give us an understanding of anything you are struggling with.

As a volunteer you will be helping families to become even better at:

· Communicating

· Managing conflict

· Processing and understand trauma

· Managing behaviour

A volunteer mentor will support the young people who attend to complete the assessment workbooks and identify any additional support needs for the individuals that may arise.

As a volunteer you will be committed to supporting and mentoring individuals who attend on a weekly basis to engage in the material of the session and identify any areas that they require additional support with.

This would be an excellent opportunity for a reliable, friendly and well-organised person to gain experience of supporting vulnerable young people whilst making a real difference to their lives.

Timescales

To be effective in this role, we ask that you are able to volunteer for a minimum of 3 hours per week for one year or more.

For volunteers interested in this opportunity you would need to be available to volunteer on one or more of the evenings dependant on how much time you wish to commit.

The Even Better Workshops and Even Better Peer support groups run in Macclesfield and Crewe on Monday to Thursday between 4pm and 6pm.
