Macclesfield Seals are looking for volunteer pool helpers for our Friday Evening Sessions.
Volunteers need not be swimming teachers or life guards but help Seals members getting in and out of the pool and with basic support in the pool. The club aims to enable people of all ages with any disability to become confident in the water and have fun. If members wish to learn to swim we can facilitate that and members have achieved ASA swimming certificates and taken part in Swimathons as members of the club. The club also has a social side and social events are held in the Summer and at Christmas for members and volunteers. Macclesfield Seals also take part in the Barnaby Festival and other events in the community. Training is available for those volunteers who wish to take up the opportunity. Some of our volunteers go on to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Our volunteers range in age from 14 to 70. A reasonable degree of confidence in the water is desirable.
Training where necessary including Safeguarding Training.
Experienced Lifeguards are on duty at the Leisure Centre Pool during the session.
Safeguarding Training and pool helper qualifications.
