We are a swim and social club, now in our 40th year! Our members are aged from 4 to 80,whilst our Volunteers are currently aged 14 to 70. You will be supporting our swimmers who require additional support to get changed. Although this is not a swimming role we require all volunteers to follow the Halliwick Swim scheme in which you will be given full training.
We meet every Sunday evening at Alsager Leisure Centre from 6 to 7 pm. Our swimmers may have additional learning and/or physical needs or are benefitting from water therapy following an operation.
We are a happy club, where members enjoy meeting together to swim, chat and laugh -none of which is possible without our invaluable Volunteers providing additional support both in and out of the water.
Volunteers should feel comfortable in assisting club members to get changed in preparation for the swim session and afterwards. This will be in a communal changing room and gender specific to those you provide support to.
We are following Covid-19 guidelines to ensure safety for all volunteers and swimmers.
