Bereavement counselling supports those left behind after our hospice patients have died
We are looking for volunteers with a diploma in counselling to join our team. Volunteering is central to our work and our counselling team is entirely voluntary, with supervision and support from paid staff members.
The service operates at a time to suit you and your client, with a dedicated counselling room.
A diploma in counselling plus 100 hours counselling experience is essential to this role.Unfortunately we are not able to take student counsellors.

Our volunteers are an essential part of our workforce so we provide a high quality induction and training for each volunteer. You will have a qualified contact in your area, a voluntary services team and as volunteering is so central to East Cheshire Hospice, all our staff provide support to our volunteers in any way they can
We have a full team of clinical staff who will be able to provide support for you and your client.

What training is available for the volunteer?:

We ask our bereavement counsellors to take a short online module on information governance and safeguarding.
