This is a great opportunity to learn the skills and functions of a furniture repair workshop. Working as part of a team you will report to the workshop supervisor to ensure that furniture repair operations are efficient and effective.
Main duties include:
- Assess the quality and condition of donated items, repair, clean and refurbish them
- Look after tools and workshop equipment
- Present goods for sale
- Maintain quality standards and adhere to health and safety policies/ procedures.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

This role requires a hardworking individual with some basic carpentry skills and experience of using carpentry tools. You should have a willingness to learn new skills and to support colleagues.

If yes, for what and at what rate?:

Reasonable out of pocket travel expenses ie. day saver bus or train ticket. Mileage paid at 25p per mile (there is a capped limit). We cannot pay for travel by taxi.
If your role involves more than 4 hours of time a hot or cold lunch is provided. Tea and coffee provided free of charge. Cold drinks and snacks available to purchase at own cost from the on- site CLiC Cafe

Personal support from the volunteer coordinator.
On the job training plus access to external training

First Aid, Principles of Risk Assessments and NVQ's at levels 1 and 2 (subject to criteria)
