With assistance from other volunteers, shop for, prepare, cook and help serve a 2 course meal on a Tuesday or a soup, sandwich and cake meal on a Thursday.
From a menu of meat / fish and fresh vegetables, prepare and cook a 2 course lunch for up to 30 people. You will then serve the meal and help clear away and wash the dishes, pots and pans with help from other volunteers, one of whom usually buys and prepares potatoes and carrots in advance. We tend to have one lead cook and one cook helper and are looking for volunteers for both these roles.
Shop for and provide a lunch of soup, sandwiches and cakes for up to 16 people, You will help to serve the meal, clear away and wash the dishes, pots and pans with help from other volunteers.
Able to cook simple meals, work in a team, keep food hygiene rules; happy to wash up as required. Have a good sense of humour.
The volunteer can assist other cooks until happy to take over as main cook for the day.
Volunteers are asked to complete a basic on line hygiene training course. Any costs are reimbursed.
