New Leaf brings together partners as well as employers from across Warrington and Cheshire to change lives, create opportunities and make a positive contribution to local communities and the regional economy.
New Leaf is looking to get over 2,800 people from across Cheshire into or closer to employment over the next three years.
The project has received £10.6 million of funding from the Building Better Opportunities programme, a key part of the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership’s (LEP) European Funding Programme. The scheme sees the Big Lottery Fund matching funds from European Social Fund (ESF), which look to provide investment in local projects that increase economic development by investing in projects which will support skills development, employment and job creation, social inclusion and local community regeneration.

If it is identified that you are interested in Volunteering, CVS Cheshire East will help you to explore your options to take up some worthwhile, meaningful and enjoyable volunteer activities.
A New Leaf Mentor works with an individual to develop an action plan identifying the skills and goals that a person has. The New Leaf mentor will contact CVS Cheshire East if an individual would like to volunteer. The volunteer placement will be set up based around your needs and the available volunteering opportunities local to you.
CVS Cheshire East will have an ongoing link to the New Leaf mentors once the person is in their voluntary placement. A member of the CVS team will meet with the person at the beginning, middle and end of the voluntary placement along with liaising with the mentor to ensure that the voluntary placement is meeting the needs of the individual.
As well as supporting the individual in their volunteer placement the CVS will liaise with the organisation hosting the placement to ensure that the person is achieving the learning goals.
Each volunteer placement will consist of 4 - 8 weeks and total 20 hours, with a minimum of 2.5 hours per week.
Still unsure about volunteering - read our New Leaf and Volunteering FAQ's here.
