Background: The CVS Community JSNA team undertook a Veterans' Project in 2011, looking at how well services for returning military personnel were able to meet health and wellbeing needs.
Following on from this work, the Community JSNA team at CVS Cheshire East were asked to undertake further engagement work within the local community to gather views and experiences from those who have served in the armed forces who are accessing support, and from Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector organisations that provide this support.
The purpose of this project was to identify any gaps and opportunities for improvement in service provision to meet those who served in the armed forces’ needs. This information may then be used to inform commissioning decisions and to enable the Armed Forces Network to bid for funding that will enable veterans’ needs to be met more effectively.
