The much-loved Barnaby Parade returns on Saturday 18 June 2022 as part of the three-day Macclesfield Barnaby Festival 2022 weekend programme. The large-scale community event is a spectacle of costume, colour and creativity and in 2018 (the last in-person Parade) saw more than 600 participants take part.

We are looking for someone with a track record of delivering and coordinating arts events to help bring the traditional Parade event back to life in June 2022. The Parade Coordinator will be be responsible for operationalising all elements of the 2022 Parade event and community outreach activities (including: event management, community engagement, marketing and fundraising). The Parade Coordinator will work closely with a number of key stakeholders, community members and Macclesfield Barnaby Festival trustees to deliver a safe, impactful, vibrant and memorable 2022 Parade.

The Parade Coordinator will be a key member of the Barnaby Team and will be passionate about the role of the arts and culture in everyday life and the benefits they bring. The Parade Coordinator will be fluent in managing multiple tasks simultaneously and enjoy building relationships with stakeholders to engage them in successful production and promotion of the Parade and the festival more widely.

The ability to work flexible hours, including evening and weekend work during the Festival (17-19 June 2022) is essential to the role. The Parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday 18 June - the successful candidate must be available on this date.

This role is offered on a part-time freelance basis, arrangements for which can be agreed. The fee for this contract is up to £6,000 (inclusive of VAT). We would look for the Parade Coordinator to work one day a week from February to mid-April, and then two days a week until the Parade and evaluation is complete (mid-late June 2022).
