Job Title: Funding Bid Writer

Reporting to: Marketing and Fundraising Manager

Hours:  14 per week


Salary:  £11.50 - £12.00per hour


Job summary:  To work with the Marketing and Fundraising Manager, and in line with the strategic fundraising plan, to identify sources of funding (local, regional, national) and prepare successful grant funding and tender applications to a variety of different funders, based on good research and excellent communication.

To research statistical and supporting evidence which will form part of the funding application to the relevant funding bodies.


Duties & Responsibilities


  1. To develop an in-depth knowledge of the Wingate’s services and strategic development potential in order to produce bid and tender submissions for all services.
  2. To plan key stages of individual bid and tender submissions, with appropriate time management and prioritisation, to ensure that deadlines are met, and team members are given enough time to gather information.
  3. To research tender and grant giving trusts’ database systems on a regular basis and identify any opportunities which may be of interest to the organisation.
  4. To prepare persuasive applications to charitable Trusts and mange and develop relationships with key contacts for both new and existing Trusts
  5. To provide regular reports to the Trustee Board and Senior Management team
  6. To adhere to the policies and procedures as specified by The Wingate Trust
  7. To operate within financial controls and systems and to manage the overall costs in line with the organisations agreed budget
  8. To undertake regular personal supervision and appraisal
  9. To undertake training as required by your line manager.
