This half day session will help delegates to understand when a project management approach may be needed, and guides colleagues through the process by splitting the content into four core modules:
Introduction
- Key concepts and definitions
- Importance of project management
Project planning
- Determining purpose and outcomes
- Identifying tasks
- Estimating resources (times / costs)
- Plotting the path (dependencies / critical path)
- Gantt charts
- Assessing risk
- Action planning
Project implementation
- Progress monitoring
- Controlling costs
- Corrective action
- Communication
Project closure and evaluation
- Closing down the project
- Evaluating against the plan
- Learning opportunities
This training will be delivered by a specialist trainer from Edenfield. The content is designed to be flexible and useable for any type of project. Whilst it is not aligned to a specific methodology, it draws in elements of both Prince2 and Association of Project Management (APM) approaches. It also introduces and compares waterfall and agile methods of project management.
Sessions are designed to include a range of activities including group discussions and practical activities, delivered in a relaxed and informal way.
