Ideal for community and voluntary organisations who are new to applying for grant funding. This session will take you through the crucial steps you need to take to help you ensure your organisation has the best chance of success with your grant bids.

Researching and understanding what to put in a grant application can be confusing. This session is ideal for anyone who is new to writing grant applications or those who find it overwhelming.
 
Who's it for?
This introductory session is aimed at organisations who have little or no experience in applying for grant funding. 
 
 
Aim of the session:
 
As the funding pot gets smaller, groups need to be able to write more effective applications to help fund their projects. This introductory session will provide guidance on:
  • What to do before writing a bid - including research, planning and budgets
  • How to find funders - ways to research and identify grant funders
  • What to include in an application - best practice.
  • Common pitfalls to avoid.

There will also be an opportunity to exchange ideas and concerns with other groups.

 

This training session links into the Resources section of the GRIPP Checklist.

 

Outcomes for Learners:

  • Understand the best way to prepare for grant applications.
  • Understand different ways to find and research funders.
  • Understand common mistakes and pitfalls to avoid.
  • Understand best practice when completing applications.
