What is ransomware or extortion? Is phishing just a misspelt word?

Do you know how to protect your organisation from these forms of digital attacks, amongst others?

The charity sector is becoming increasingly vulnerable to cyber fraud. 22% of charities reported a cyber-attack or breach over the last 12 months and the average cost to a charity of a cyber security breach has been calculated to be around £1,030. However, more alarmingly, it is estimated that the percentage of organisations who do not realise they have been targeted is much, much higher.

Cyber criminals will often target smaller organisations who think they are too small to attract attention and so have no basic security procedures in place at all.

So, time to do something about it!

With funding from National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) in partnership with the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA), CVS is running a half-day session to cover:

  • What is cyber security and what are the threats that voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations face
  • What you can do to protect your organisations
  • What to do if you fall victim

*Cancellation: Please note that although this course is free to CVS members – non-attendance without 5 working days' notice of cancellation will result in you being invoiced a £20 administration fee. Non-member organisations will be invoiced the full course fee. Please see our cancellation policy for more information*
