The Trustee Network brings together Trustees and Committee members from charities and community groups of all sizes to talk about the issues and challenges facing them in their role as Trustees and for their organisations.

Attendees are able to seek advice from their peers, share good practice and develop in their role as a Trustee. The network meets at least twice a year with a different topic of discussion each time, decided by the network members.

This CVS Trustees Network will focus on Charity Law and Trustees.

Our guest speaker will be Graeme Hughes of Brabners, Solicitors, in  Liverpool. Graeme is a legal expert in the specialist field of charity law and will be providing a thorough update on key issues and changes that trustees need to be aware of.

Brabners is the only full-service law firm in the North West with a team of solicitors dedicated to advising charities on charity law and governance. The Legal 500 – which ranks lawyers by reference to their practice area and location – describes Brabners as having the “very best charity lawyers in the North West”.

Graeme Hughes advises on all aspects of charity law, in particular, the establishment and management of charities, the incorporation of unincorporated charitable trusts and associations, compliance and administrative matters, fundraising matters and trading by charities, governance issues including amendments to charities’ governing documents and charity mergers, restructures and reorganisations.
