"Charity trustees should regularly review and assess the risks faced by their charity in all areas of its work and plan for the management of those risks." - Charity Commission. During this network meeting, we will be discussing the basic principles and strategies to manage risk within an organisation.

 

The responsibility for the management and control of a charity rests with the trustee body and therefore their involvement in the key aspects of the risk management process is essential, particularly in setting the parameters of the process and reviewing and considering the results.

We will cover:

  • Understanding basics of risk management
  • The risk management statement and the legal requirements
  • A risk management model

The CVS Trustee Network brings together Trustees, Directors and Committee members from charities and community groups of all sizes to talk about the issues and challenges facing them in their role as Trustees and for their organisations.
