In May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are due to change. This session is to help community organisations know what they need to have in place to ensure that they are meeting the new regulations.

This session will cover the concepts and entities which exist within the GDPR along with some examples of each to make sure everyone understands the legal jargon. The session will also include explanations of Data Controllers, Data Processors and Consent etc.

The aim is that attendees will be able to return to their organisation's with enough understanding to apply what they have learned with the appropriate context.  Organisation's will then be able to attempt the compliance journey themselves or if they need external help, where to get it from.

The main aim is to demystify the regulation and remove the fear factor lots of organisation's still have.

The session will be led by David Lenagh from Elucidate Group, an IT specialist based in Chester who have delivered successful sessions to the voluntary sector in both Chester and Tarporley.

They have a blog on the topic which is also helpful: https://www.elucidategroup.com/navigating-gdpr/

We anticipate a high demand for these sessions so to ensure as many people as possible are able to access the session we will be restricting numbers to two people per organisation.

Cancellation - Please note we require a minimum of 3 working days' notice to cancel a place on this session or your organisation will be invoiced a £20 administration charge.
