The next Volunteer Manager's Network Meeting will be held at New Life Church (Danesford Community Centre), West Road, Congleton, CW12 4EY and will focus on 'Recruiting Ex-Offenders as Volunteers Safely and Fairly'.
There will be a presentation from Eddie Tarry (Community Engagement Manager - Reducing Reoffending team at HMP Styal) which will focus on:
- The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (including recent changes)
- Spent Convictions and what these mean
- Managing risk when recruiting Ex-offenders as volunteers
- Challenging perceptions
Plus feedback from groups who successfully work with and manage Ex-offenders as volunteers, and the chance to discuss concerns and best practice.
