Safeguarding means protecting people’s health, well-being and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. This training is essential for all community and voluntary organisations to understand their responsibilities.

Staff and volunteers in voluntary and community organisations have a key role to play in ensuring that people in the organisation and those accessing their services are protected and kept safe from harm. 

Who's it for?
This course is suitable for any member of staff or volunteer that deals with potentially vulnerable adults. The focus of this training is to alert participants as to their responsibilities around recognising and responding to abuse. This training and understanding is often a requirement of statutory and trust funding organisations. 

Intended results for learners and organisations:

Through taking part in this course, learners will understand:

  • ​Their role in recognising and responding to signs and symptoms of abuse
  • Safeguarding policy and procedures in their organisation
  •  Implications of the Care Act 2014.

Attendees may also wish to attend the other part of this training on Safeguarding Children if this is relevant to their organisation - please book a place on both sessions if this is the case otherwise a place cannot be guaranteed. The cost will be £60 per person for CVS Cheshire East Members or £95 for Non-Members for the full-day.

The training will be delivered by Jane Donohoe from Adullam Social Enterprise. Jane is avery inspiring trainer, who has a number of years experience working with vulnerable adults and children.

Cancellation - Please note that cancellation/ non-attendance without working 3 days' notice of cancellation will result in your organisation being invoiced the full course fee.
