Does you organisation involve volunteers? This free session is aimed at any organisation who involves volunteers or would like to involve volunteers. Join us for this half-day session to find out some essential good practice to help you. Ideal for anyone who has been on the 'Introduction to Volunteer Management' training.

Making sure you recruit and retain the right volunteers will help your organisation thrive. This free session will help you to understand the right steps to take when involving volunteers in your organisation.

Who's it for?
This course is ideal for any organisation who involves volunteers or would like to involve volunteers - especially suitable for new volunteer managers and ideal for anyone who has already been on the 'Introduction to Volunteer Management' training in the past.

Aim of the Session:
To support volunteer involving organisations to recruit and retain the right volunteers to support their organisation.

The course will cover:
Recruiting Volunteers - including the best methods, writing attention grabbing role descriptions and best practice when interviewing and ways of safeguarding your organisation, service users and volunteers.

Retaining Volunteers - including induction, supervision, getting the buy in of staff and trustees, training, motivation, saying thanks and when to say goodbye.

Outcomes of the Session.
By the end of the session learners should be able to:

•Explain the most effective recruitment techniques for your organisation.
•Able to write attractive and informative volunteer role descriptions.
•Have the tools available to support and supervise volunteers.
•Understand ways to motivate and thank volunteers.

The session will be delivered by Heidi Bibby - Development Officer at CVS Cheshire East. Heidi has worked in the voluntary sector for a number of years and works with the rest of the development team at CVS Cheshire East to support voluntary groups in recruiting volunteers.
