The Cheshire East Local Safeguarding Children Board meets every two months and is made up of senior personnel from both statutory and voluntary agencies to oversee the work of those agencies where they are engaged with the care of or education and development of children and young people.

The principal responsibility of the board is to ensure that every agency has the safeguarding of children at the forefront of their operations.

It would seem that these days if you don’t do ‘online’ you are at a disadvantage: you don’t have the same ease of access to advice, support and information as those of us who do.

I was interested to read the latest survey results from Clinks in the 2015 edition of the State of the Sector report. In particular, a number of organisations stated they are ‘relying on their reserves’ particularly when involved with PbR contracts (Payment by Results) putting them at risk of closure, and that the majority of organisations do not receive full cost recovery on contracts they deliver.

I went to see the ‘Who Do You See?’ exhibition at Parachute (Drop – in group for people with learning disabilities in Macclesfield). Some powerful images and messages were expressed by people who attend the group, like….:

“Treat me nicely like a normal person.”

“Be patient with each other.  It would be better.  We’re only here for a short time.”
